Tortoise 'Paya' & Pearl Ring

This fabulous turtle shell ring hails from the coastal regions of Papua New Guinea. Here the Island cultures would utilise this precious object for ritual or ceremonial functions. The beautiful highlights and translucent qualities shine through this treasure from the sea, no wonder it was so prized and sought after by the Papuans.

This charming ring has three narrow bands of 22kt gold, the centre of which slides about, with a Japanese akoya pearl atop. Divine!
