Olmec Pendant & Watermelon Tourmaline Necklace

This ancient jade bead pendant hails from the ancient Olmec culture, a pre-Columbian civilisation living in the tropical lowlands of central Mexico. Jade was a rare and valued material to both the Olmec and Mayan people, hence an elite and highly symbolic stone, and often carved into beads for ceremonial adornment. Displayed as a pendant in this fabulous necklace and highlighted by watermelon tourmaline, stones naturally coloured in the greens and pinks of watermelon. Stunning as it hangs above the collar bone, 40cm necklace length with added 4cm pendant.
