These extraordinary lapis lazuli beads date back to the ancient civilisations nestled between the Tigris and Euphrates Rivers, circa 2600BC. Here indigenous peoples were captivated by the rich, regal blue of this wonderful stone. Fashioned by royal craftsmen and incorporated into ritual and ceremonial ornament for the elite. This particularly fabulous and rare set of Mesopotamian, three dimensional diamond shaped beads are beautifully detailed with 22kt gold and fine seed pearls, Lisa Black signature 22kt gold serpent clasp and star. Overall length is 45cm, length of central stone 3.5cm. Exceptional!
