TRIBAL BLACK showcases magnificent adornment incorporating rare tribal remnants from Island cultures of the South Pacific.
Many of these extraordinary objects represent connections between the natural and the mystical world.  Fragments of hand fashioned tortoise and intricately carved seashell (spondylus and conus) have embellished  objects for ceremony and ritual since forever.

In addition, these elements were part of the Kula trade, the barter-based economic system still widely used today. Objects would accrue 'mana', power and energy, over time indicating clan affiliations and ancestral links. The more sophisticated and finely crafted the item, the longer maintained within the 'Kula' system and the more prized and sought after by island nobility.
