Summers sunrises draw us into the golden hue that is so abundant during these long, sun filled days.
Gold has forever been revered for its glistening glamour and glow. Found in very small quantities, in rock formations, in alluvial deposits, in river sand, and rarely on its own, this precious metal has continued to be sought after for its incredile qualities of maleability, lustre and purity. Though, it wasn’t always the precious adorning lustre it has become…
Used by the Aztecas as far back as 1345 BC, it was seen for its practical qualities of water purification and cleansing. Thus, when the Spanish came and discovered Moctezumas empire, gold was seen not only on the people, but also adorning the waterways.
Since times immemorable, gold has continued to be traded extensively between village and city, empire and craftsmen, to be forged into an infinite amount of treasurable art and adornment.

The ancients believed the pearl connected them to the god and cherished it as a point of contact between themselves and the natural world. Here was an object that captures the majesty of nature; someone who owned or wore a pearl possessed an object that held the essence of natures wonder.
Lisa Black Jewellery strives to embody the very essence and awe, as the one found in nature.
