This unique line of rare and precious ornament stands out for its fine craftsmanship, high level of design, and as a showcase of valuable remnants from a disappearing world. To collect these tribal relics and ancient elements, Lisa travels extensively with her husband, Robert Bleakley, one of the world’s foremost experts on tribal and oceanic art. He has served as director of the Tribal Art Department, Sothebys London as well as founder and CEO of Sothebys Australia. Robert contributes to the Lisa Black collection by sourcing rare and extraordinary tribal items in addition to providing expertise on value and authenticity.

Their eclectic lifestyle – one day with the Yolgnu people in Arnham land and another at a Zen garden in Kyoto, with visits to New York and London in between, informs this magnificent jewellery line. The jewels possess a magic blend of cultures, mixing the primitive with the sublime. Each piece offers astute attention to detail as they reveal primal treasures from around the world.

'Working with stones and plants in a garden correlates to working with gems and ancient pieces of artefacts. When I am creating a new object, all my education, my love for iconic tribal elements, and my passion for adornment infuse my work with life and presence.'

The components comprise unique and valuable primitive elements – shell, bones, and fragments of ancient necklaces worn by Mayan princesses and Islander kings, with the finest quality ruby, pearl, and gemstones, all fashioned with 22 karat gold. The collection’s unique design is deftly informed by the principles of architecture and art.

Inspired by the gods for worship and adornment, Lisa Black Jewellery is crafted for the modern goddess trekking the globe with dignity, grace and power.

Lisa currently lives on a coastal paradise in sub-tropical Australia.
